A Family Week At Deep Creek

Daniel warming up for his first wake boarding run of the year! We won't show you the next series of pictures.......
We had a fishing expedition and caught 12 fish. Papa got the job of getting the hooks out and letting them all go! Also got the job of putting the worms on the hooks!

Relaxing on the boat.....one of the few moments or true peace and quiet during the week!

Well.......I guess there were a few other moments of true relaxation!!! Get out the Root Beer!

We finally got everyone together for a few days at Deep Creek Lake! It was a little cooler, than expected, but we still had a great time. It was the first time that our whole family has been together in almost two years. Here is Papa with some of the grandkids!

Robert and his dad just got back from a fun birding trip to Texas. They spent a couple of days searching out lots of fun birds. At the end, we had one big celebration-----ice cream even for daddy! More details will be posted on the Papa Parsons Birding Adventures blog.....but it was a great trip!

It is time, once again for church basketball!! This year, for the first time since Robby was playing, we are back playing church basketball. Both Daniel and Andrew are playing and their are on the same team! Here you see Andrew with that trade mark smile---and Daniel giving that "no not me" expression to the ref!! Then we have our hidden super star that we only use in special dire circumstances.....

One of the last fun events that we did in Tahoe was going dog sledding. I don't think that any of us have been before, and it was quite an adventure. We had four different sleds, each pulled by about ten dogs. Let me tell you, they were excited and ready to go! Take a look----we are off for Alaska!

Katharine taking a quick dip in the pool. Swimming in the middle of the winter in an outdoor pool and still being able to smile!!!

Who are these two dudes????

Robby's snow chair-----right above the hot tub! Spencer relaxing in the snow---I just don't know what got into him!

Boys being boys!!! King of the hill. The winner was allowed back in the pool first!

Nothing like a quick dip in the middle of winter. Especially when you have a group of crazy boys, starting with Robby and working your way down to Spencer!!! Jumping in the snow, diving in the pool and then ending up in the hot tub! Robert decided that of the three, the hot tub was the best. We had a fun couple of hours after a long day of skiing!

It was a defining moment...it was bound to happen...but today was the day! After a little prodding from both his older brothers, Andrew at age 12 decided to try his first inverted aerial flip while skiing. Did he make it? You be the judge. Watch the video for a first hand report! To say the least, we were very excited and he was thrilled! You should have seen the smile.

A Ton of Snow

This is the house that we stayed in. Thanks goodness it had a hot tub! We had a ton of snow at Tahoe! Eight to nine feet along all the roads. The path to the hot tub at the house we stayed at had six to seven feet of snow on both sides! We haven't seen that much snow in a long time. The kids built tunnels through the snow and had great snow ball fights. It was great fun!!
